This year Burnaby Mountain District partnered with our neighbours in Burnaby North District to represent Girl Guides of Canada at the Remembrance Day parade and ceremony at the North Burnaby Cenotaph.

About 20 girls and 8 leader from our district participated in the event, with an even larger number of girls from Burnaby North — they have been doing this event which occurs in their home district for years.

First everyone gathered at a rallying point then they marched the parade route and finally participated in a wreath laying ceremony.

Everyone was very glad that the rain held off that day. It was a lovely event to honour our veterans and to be thankful for the peace that we have as a result of their sacrifices. Thank you very much to the girls and Guiders who participated in the event.
